When you go home, there are a few functions that one inevitably attends in Guam. There is the rosary, some village fiesta, and of course a christening. Last night, we were up in Yigo helping Velma get stuff together.
So, I am relaying this story to my friend on the phone: "Velma's dad was teasing me that I'm 'stateside'! I was asking him as he was putting up the tent, 'do you guys need help?' To which he responded, 'do we GUYYYSSS need HELLLLP?!? are we stateside, now??!' I'm not actually sure if it was the fact that I said 'guys' or that I insinuated chamorro men needed help putting up the tent."
My friend says: "Maybe it's the fact that you refer to it as a TENT! It's a canopy, Joanna!!"
LOL!!! got damn....I'm an effin' coconut. Booooooooooo!! Shet, shet, shet Manet!!
